How we compare prices
What a price on Uisge Beatha means, where it comes from and when we leave a retailer out.
Every price on this site comes from a retailer’s own product page or product feed. We record when we saw it, and we show that time next to the price.
Same bottle, not a similar one
We only put two retailers side by side when we have confirmed they sell the same bottling: the same distillery, age, edition, strength and size. A shared barcode helps, but it is not enough on its own if the details on the page disagree. When we are not sure, we leave the listing out rather than guess.
Which offers we show
- In stock only. Out-of-stock listings do not count towards the best price.
- Recent only. A price expires a day after we last checked it. If a page has not been refreshed since, the price is greyed out and marked as old.
- Delivery. Many retailers do not publish a delivery charge per bottle. Where we do not know it, we say so instead of assuming free delivery.
Retailers that share an owner
Loch Fyne Whiskies and The Whisky Shop have the same owner and usually charge the same price. We still list both, but we do not count them as two independent retailers when we say how many shops sell a bottle.

Our links go straight to the retailer’s product page. If we ever earn a commission from a link, the bottle page will say so above the price table, and commission never changes the order of the prices.
