Closed distilleries in the group's history

Closed while owned by Pernod Ricard or a company that later became part of it (see the timeline below). The site may now belong to someone else or no longer stand.

How the group came together

  1. 1975 Seagram (via Chivas Brothers / The Glenlivet) builds a major Scotch portfolio.
  2. 1987 Allied Lyons buys 51% of Hiram Walker, gaining its Scotch distilleries (later Allied Domecq).
  3. 2001 Pernod Ricard and Diageo split Seagram Spirits & Wine; Pernod takes Chivas / The Glenlivet.
  4. 2005 Pernod Ricard buys Allied Domecq, gaining Ballantine's and many malt distilleries.
  5. 2005 Chivas Brothers (Pernod Ricard's Scotch arm) absorbs the former Allied Domecq malt distilleries.
